Room 14 are all back from the mid-term break, refreshed and ready for more learning! We're now learning about The Senses and have done experiments on 'hearing', 'touch' and 'taste'. We closed our eyes and tried to identify objects from how they felt (smooth, rough, furry, prickly, hard, soft), we listened to some everyday sounds and matched them to pictures and we tasted some sweet, sour, salty, crunchy and mushy food!! Did you know that if you hold your nose when eating something, you cannot taste it properly? We all noticed the difference when we let go of our noses and suddenly could taste the food in our mouth!
We've also been working on the theme of 'The Optician' at Aistear time: we have a role play area, where we've been having our eyes tested and buying new glasses. Some children made eye charts in the writing area and play dough glasses in the motor-skills area. Have a look at our photos to see us at work:

"What do you think of my cool playdough glasses?" says Byron!

Check back soon to see what else we're up to and to spot some familiar faces...
