2D shape poems

Here are the rhymes we learned to help us remember our 2D shapes:
Tommy Triangle is the name for me,
Count my sides: 1, 2, 3!

Sammy Square is my name,
I have 4 sides, they're all the same!
 

I'm Reggie Rectangle, I am a good sport.
I have 4 sides, 2 long and 2 short!












I'm Cindy Circle,
My side bends,
It's one long curve that never ends!

2D shape

We have recently been learning about 2D shape in maths. Here we are doing some of our maths activities, constructing shapes from different materials.

Hedgehogs

We've been learning about Autumn, including animals that hibernate. In art we made these cute, spiky hedgehogs from clay and matchsticks. They're just getting ready for their long winter sleep....

Building bodies!!

We have been learning about parts of the body and The Doctor's Surgery in Aistear. Look at these excellent playdough bodies which Deborah, Kelly and Leo made.
