Happy Christmas!!

Last Friday, we had a special surprise visitor to the classroom: he had a red coat, trousers and hat, big black boots, a white beard and he was carrying a big black sack. Can you guess who it was?...that's right, good old Santa Claus!!! He brought us some sweets and we got a class photo with the man himself.

Today was the last day of school before our Christmas holidays. We had a special assembly in the hall for the giving out of awards and prizes for good attendance. Our class did really well, in fact we had the best attendance in the whole school this term  - well done Room 14, keep up the good work and keep coming to school!!
Here are our prize winners for from the draw and also thse who got certificates for 100% attendance  this term:
Good job Keeley, Danielle, Malaz, Alakiy, Emilija, Zaya, Brenda, Justinas, Leo, Dawid and Mozan.

Happy Christmas everyone - keep safe and enjoy the holidays!

Santa's workshop

Our Aistear theme for December was Santa's workshop. Here are some of the things we did:

Writing letters to Santa.

These elves are busy helping Santa in his workshop, building toys, checking quality and packing.

We also wrote Christmas cards, designed our own toys and wrapped presents.

We had fun designing glasses, making them with playdough and pretending we were at the Optician's in the Role play area.
Malha tries on some glasses!

'Optician' Leo tests Charles's eyesight.

Receptionist Zaya is busy making appointments!

Dawid and Justinas are in the waiting area while Betty calls 'next please'!

2D shape poems

Here are the rhymes we learned to help us remember our 2D shapes:
Tommy Triangle is the name for me,
Count my sides: 1, 2, 3!

Sammy Square is my name,
I have 4 sides, they're all the same!

I'm Reggie Rectangle, I am a good sport.
I have 4 sides, 2 long and 2 short!

I'm Cindy Circle,
My side bends,
It's one long curve that never ends!

Last Friday, we went on our school tour to Kilinkere farm. The weather was perfect and were very excited as we all set off on the bus in the morning. We had a super day and got to do lots of fun things - riding a pony, going on a tractor-trailer ride, meeting and feeding animals, playing in the sand area  and playground and even racing up a hill with teacher!!

The rabbits liked Kornel!!

....and Yasmin!

Dylan and Raghad made friends with the gerbil.

Check back later....we may have more photos of our tour for you!
