Have fun trying them out at home!

Making shakers

Last week we made shakers. We used (recycled!) our milk cartons and experimented with putting beans or rice into them to see what different sounds could be made. When we had finished decorating them in beautiful colours, we used them to accompany a new song, shaking out the beat. We had great fun!!

Trip to the library

Today, the Senior Infants from Room 14 went down the town to visit the library. We were excited going on the bus. When we got there, we looked at some books, watched the fish in the fish tank and then Mrs. Flynn read us two stories: Charlie Cook's Favourite Book, by Julia Donaldson and A Quiet Night In, by Jill Murphy.
Zsolt enjoys his book after checking out the fish behind him!

Dylan, Kornel and Ketija pick books to read.

Shared reading: Eivinas and Alex enjoy looking at Where's Wally? together.

Viktorija reads a big book in a cosy corner.

Mrs. Flynn reads us a story.

We have been learning about sorting by different characteristics. We all really enjoyed this website - maybe some of you can try it at home: www.sesamestreet.org/games

December 2014

Our Aistear theme this month was 'Santa's Grotto'.  We were busy designing and building toys, wrapping presents, writing Christmas cards and gift labels and making decorations with Junk Art.

Santa also came to visit:

Healthy breakfast

On 27th November, we all went over to the parents' room for a Healthy Breakfast. We tried lots of different, tasty food: various breads, cereals, porridge, yoghurt, granola and many juicy fruits!! We tried foods we had never tasted before and discovered we really liked them. The Granola and Yogurt were particularly popular!! Thank you Ms.McCahill, Mrs. Bradley, Susan and all the parents who prepared the food and encouraged us and taught us about how we can enjoy healthy food.
